We had an old concrete panel garage and didn’t want it going in landfill so we used it for the basis of our studio.
We think the finished solution works quite well in balancing the garden and the recent kitchen extension
This was the starting point of the Garden Studio just after we had finished the back Kitchen extension
We had to go through quite a process before we got it to the photo below
- Remove the original asbestos roof – not one to try DIY as it can be dangerous so we arranged for a properly registered disposal company to come and remove this.
- Remove the old rusty roof frame – we left that in place whilst building the new timber roof just to help with building and holding support planks
- Build the roof beam around the whole construction
